Fireplace Service Technician
Job Summary
The Fireplace Service Technician provides professional in-home service calls on fireplaces. This role performs all duties with the highest levels of customer service, safety, professionalism, attention to detail, and integrity, and focuses on being easy to do business with. This role is expected to comply with all safety requirements needed for each job site, and requires daily communication with other employees, supervisors, and managers. This role is expected to exhibit the core values of the company - to own it, work as one team, find a way, and play to win.
Responsibilities
- Contact customers in advance of service call to maintain accuracy in scheduling.
- Repair and replace fireplace components when needed to resolve operating problems.
- Ensure each unit is operating per manufacturer's specifications.
- Provide preventative maintenance and service for fireplace accessories and other related services in existing occupied residential homes.
- Assist service coordinators by providing needed information and helping to resolve problems.
- Initiate gas fireplace start-ups and provide homeowner instructions.
- Maintain professional image with all customers and builders through commitment to total customer satisfaction.
- Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to work efficiently and problem solve.

Required Experience/Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of work experience in a trade or construction related field
- Understanding of gas or LP components; electrical switches, fans, and remote controls; chimney roofing and flashings
- Mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with industry safety regulations (OSHA requirements)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull heavy materials
- Comfort with heights including standing on rooftops and climbing 40-foot ladders
- At least 3 years of driving experience, and a valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation and ability to work consistent timely schedule
Preferred Experience/Skills
- General contracting or HVAC knowledge
Safety Assessment/Typical Working Conditions
The work environment for a Fireplace Service Technician is generally outdoors on jobsites, in commercial construction settings or exposed to the elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
