Job Description

This position is responsible for the business development and estimating of Division 8 products (doors, frames, hardware), Division 10 products (toilet accessories, partitions, mirrors), and Division 28 products (Access Control, Cameras), and multifamily trim products.  The Estimator works hand in hand with various in-house departments, as well as customers and vendors, to initiate, takeoff, and quote numerous projects. This opportunity requires an individual to be intuitive and solve problems using skills acquired through experience within the construction industry.  The individual is expected to exhibit the core values of the company - to Own it, Work as ONE Team, Find a Way, and Play to Win.


Compensation

$55-65K base plus commission


Mission

The mission for this role is to build and maintain external relationships with customers and execute on CMF revenue and gross profit goals.  


Outcomes

  1. Complete Estimating and Division 10 Training Program with 10 days
  2. Complete Access Control Training Program within 21 days
  3. Estimate $2.5 MM of work in first 90 days
  4. Estimate $4.5 MM of work in second 90 days
  5. Open $1.5 MM of new projects within 180 days
  6. Open $3.0 MM of new projects within 360 days


Reports to: Director of Business Development - CMF Division


Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry is highly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge within the trade of doors, frames, and hardware is required
  • Knowledge of access control and the integration with door hardware is highly preferred
  • DHI Certifications (AHC, CDC, EHC, AOC) desired
  • Experience in project estimating and familiarity with construction drawings & specifications
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, ability to multi-task with advanced problem-solving techniques
  • Proficient communication skills with timely follow-up

  • Required experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, .PDF reader & editor


Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with vendors and purchasing agent to procure the most cost-effective pricing
  • Reviewing architectural drawings and specifications
  • Using experience and knowledge as they relate to building codes, life safety, and accessibility
  • Providing a takeoff using a systematic, methodical, detail-oriented process
  • Creating proposals and providing value engineering opportunities to customer base
  • Direct communication with customers via phone, email, or jobsite visits
  • Ability to meet bid date schedules & deadlines
  • Following up, negotiating, and closing bid projects
  • Provide rough openings, as required
  • Form relationships with customers providing long term growth opportunities
